ENTRY 6: POWTOON


Greetings earthlings!
So this is the first time I didn’t go to class for degree because I’m down with fever.
But I got bored after only one day.

But luckily I didn’t miss much since this week is mostly about our educational video assignment. For this assignment, we are required to create an educational video about any topic. It can be about grammar, tips and also animals! In order to create the video, we have to use Powtoon. I can’t remember the last time I used Powtoon. Maybe during diploma for a presentation (I think). I can’t remember.

Anyway, a lot has change! I remembered the last I used it, Powtoon didn’t have storyboard or template. We have to create everything from scratch and it is a pain in the ass. I guess I am getting older since a lot has changed since then. Lol.

So my group consists of 4 person (Aisyah, Balqis, Nur and yours truly). Each of us came up with a topic for our educational video. We had several ideas for the video such as teaching simple present tense, introducing Harry Potter’s characters (adjective) and graphology. At the end, we decided to go with graphology. Graphology is the science of analysing a person’s personality through their handwriting. We chose graphology because I already have the script for it since I presented about it for my informative speech last semester.



Other than that, we think it suits the purpose of it being an educational video as we are teaching others on how to analyse their own handwriting or other person’s handwriting.
I think I should stop now before I give anything away regarding the content of the video which will be published sometime next week.

Here we are again. When there is a beginning, there must be an end. This week is the last week of class for this semester and the last entry for this blog. I feel sad and at the same time I am glad that this semester is coming to an end as it has been a roller coaster ride for everyone with assignments etc. I think this course has taught me a lot of things that I found useful in my life such as I learned on how to create a courseware, podcast and Powtoon. Other than that, I discovered that how little does Aisyah knows about technology and she does not know how to do some stuff that I found easy to do. ENTRY 9: NOT AS SMART AS SMARTBUILDER

Hello netizens! So today we continued our lesson with SmartBuilder by learning on how to insert audio and creating hotspot in the courseware. To me it is quite difficult to do at the beginning as I couldn’t really see what Madam was doing because I sat at the back row. But luckily Bal know what to do so most of the time I rely on her to do that. I guess it is time to change my spectacles prescriptions. Like I said last week, creating the command for the SmartBuilder is the same as coding. You have to be precise with the command/code. If you made one mistake, the command could not be executed and in my case, I always forgot to tick the “False” option for the hotspot. But that is not the end of my problem with SmartBuilder. As for inserting the audio, it was okay. I was able to do it for my first project. However, when it comes to the second project that I created, it couldn’t be played. ENTRY 7: ME VS POWTOON

I had a rocky beginning for my Powtoon. The story began with me trying to create Powtoon and do my part. For the first half an hour, it was good. I managed to do almost half of it until the WiFi starting to slow. Too slow up to a point where I couldn’t even load the homepage. I asked my group mates if they encountered the same problem as me, and most of them said they do. After that, I gave up trying to load the page and went to sleep and just pray that all my work has been auto-saved. The next day, I logged in to my account and thank the lords of auto-save, my project is still there!!!!!! When we told Madam Azida about our issues with the Powtoon, she told us that most probably it occurred because we have to ensure it was auto-saved every time we made the changes. This is because if we did not do it every now and then, the server might crash due to it trying to save a lot of info at the same time resulting it to crash and the webpage couldn’t be loaded.
